We had a wonderful time in Shanghai, and were greatly helped by our guides Celine and Frieda (seen on the right, outside the Sun Yat Sen Museum). 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

One of the highlights was the Shanghai Museum, the location of the beautiful painting immediately below. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Another was the trip by bus to Zhouzhuang, an ancient "water-town" near Shanghai.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Later, while we were teaching in Jinan, we had the great pleasure of visiting Confucius' birthplace, Qufu (below). 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Then it was on to Beijing, guided by Mary (seen on the right in Tiananmen Square). 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

During our time there we visited the Great Wall.
